Join us for a webinar with ASM International:
Non-destructive Case Depth Analysis Using Barkhausen Noise
Thursday, October 5, 2017 2:00 PM - 3:00 PM EDT
Barkhausen noise is a completely non-destructive method sensitive to stress and microstructural changes in ferromagnetic material. Traditionally, the method has been used to detect grinding re-temper burn and heat treatment defects. Technological advances have allowed the method to become a fast, reliable tool for non-destructive case depth determination.
This webinar will cover the basic theory of Barkhausen noise, application of the technique for case depth analysis, and several measurement examples illustrating the effectiveness of Barkhausen noise as an alternative or compliment to traditional time consuming, destructive techniques.
