American Stress Technologies is seeking a General Manager to lead the sales and service team in providing non-destructive and destructive testing solutions for process control and quality inspection.

Position Summary

American Stress Technologies is seeking a General Manager to lead the sales and service team in providing non-destructive and destructive testing solutions for process control and quality inspection. The General Manager will manage a team of experienced sales and service engineers in addition to direct sales responsibilities. The General Manager will lead, develop, and motivate the sales and service team to drive sustainable and profitable sales growth.  The General Manager will work closely with the Managing Director of the parent company in Finland, Stresstech Oy. This position is based out of the company’s office in Pittsburgh, PA.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement sales strategies and objectives for the Company to achieve market share growth and maximize sales revenue
  • Assure that the direct sales/service team and distributors develop and optimize their focus to meet monthly, quarterly, and annual targets, support sales objectives, as well as provide technical support to customers
  • Sell and network directly with existing and prospective customers of a territory as well as third party distributors/resellers to identify new customers and introduce new products
  • Ensure CRM is used to its fullest extent to monitor and report the progress of sales opportunities and on-going projects
  • Identify product improvements and new products based on customer needs and market trends to help prioritize engineering projects by remaining current on industry trends, market activities, and competitors
  • Work with the corporate marketing team to drive online brand and product campaigns to raise brand awareness through inbound and outbound marketing initiatives
  • Responsible for financial management and reporting of the US subsidiary
  • Oversee the smooth operation of contract measurement laboratory and ensure timely completion of measurement contracts
  • Maintain ISO 9001 and other certifications
  • Other duties as may be assigned

 Experience, Skills and Education

  • Minimum of 10 years of sales experience and 5 years of sales management experience required
  • B.S. or M.S. in Engineering or Science field; or equivalent industry experience
  • Strong capital equipment sales management experience with proven results in meeting sales goals
  • Experience in planning and management aimed at organic sales growth
  • Ability to motivate, train and direct third-party distributors/resellers
  • Must understand basic financial analysis such as preparing and reviewing budgets, P&L, and Balance Sheets
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication and reporting skills in English; Able to work and communicate with both technical and nontechnical personnel
  • Able to travel between 30% to 50% of the time
  • Strong interpersonal and presentation skills with the ability to understand customer’s needs and present solutions
  • Solid time management skills and be a self-motivated, results-driven professional with self-confidence and discipline and the ability to work autonomously as well as within a team environment
