Detectors
Longer detectors for wider diffraction angle detection. Suitable for e.g. hard materials when diffractor peak requires wider detection angle. Long detectors are standard feature with Xstress G3 and Xstress Robot.

MYTHEN2 detectors with their high quantum efficiency reduce the needed exposure times.
MYTHEN2 is a single-photon counting strip detector, which processes signals in a readout chip. MYTHEN2 provides high spatial resolution and frame rate, reduced noise and power consumption and fast readout with no dark current in residual stress measurement.

Detector filters
K-beta filters are used to filter out K-beta radiation of a given X-ray tube. Filters can be attached on the detectors without any tools.

Reference samples
The reference samples are made for checking the operation of Xstress system.
Residual stress reference sample

Retained austenite reference sample set
Sample set includes three retained austenite reference powder samples with ~2%, ~8% and ~15% retained austenite content, and a sample tray with attachment screw holes.

Alignment tools
Xstress Camera
Xstress Camera is used to verify and align Xstress diffractometers. It can also be used to correct Xstress Robot alignment issues or study the shape and size of the collimators.
Xstress Camera is supported in Xstress Studio 1.4.0 or newer and in XTronic 1.16.0 or newer. Xstress Studio has built-in routines to verify and measure the beam drifts in tilting, rotation and in Z-direction. XTronic has a “Tool data alignment“ tool to study the X-ray beam position in real-time. Based on these results, the diffractometer can be adjusted accordingly.

Enclosures - safety

Xstress Table for X-ray
Xstress Table for X-ray complements the Xstress diffractometer. The table makes precise positioning of the samples possible for e.g. depth profile measurements. The measuring area is surrounded from all sides with a safety enclosure.
The main doors can be opened and the right side of the safety enclosure can be lifted up for setting up the measurement. The doors are equipped with safety switches.

The enclosure provides a closed and protected area for X-ray diffraction measurements with Xstress diffractometer.
The front doors of the safety enclosure can be opened for setting up the measurement. The doors are equipped with safety switches.

Xstress Wall
For parts too large to fit in our standard safety enclosure we offer Xstress Walls. These modular walls offer additional protection from exposure and can be customized to meet a customer’s needs. Xstress Wall is available with side or corner doors.

Columns
Vertical column
Table for X-ray can be equipped with a vertical column. The Xstress diffractometer is mounted on the column for manual moving in the vertical direction. The carrier for Xstress diffractometer is counterbalanced and can be locked with a locking handle. There is also a locking ring for repositioning the carrier.

A fume extractor removes fumes caused by electropolishing.

Keyboard and monitor support arm
A keyboard and display mount for the computer display and the keyboard is fixed to the stand frame.

Simple rotary unit for RA measurement
With help of the Simple rotary unit the part can be properly aligned and rotated during the measurement. Simple rotary unit offers continuous rotation allowing for further randomizing of the sampling volume when performing retained austenite measurements.

Elastic constant devices
X-ray elastic constant determination system allows experimental determination of the X-ray elastic constant (XEC) in adherence to ASTM E1426 or EN15305 using a strain gauge or load cell that is automatically controlled by the XTronic software. This method can be used when residual stresses are to be evaluated by X-ray diffraction technique, and the X-ray elastic constant of the material is unknown.

Depth measuring stands
The Depth measuring stand is used to align and position a dial indicator for measuring the material removal in depth profiling. Three different Depth measuring stand models are available. Below are listed the common features of all the three models:
- Screw knob for tightening the dial indicator in its place

- Handle for locking the vertical position of the dial indicator
